The Public Provident Fund remains one of the most dependable long-term savings instruments available to Indian investors. It is backed by the Government of India, earns tax-free interest, and cannot be attached by creditors. Yet most account holders have never sat down to calculate what their corpus will actually look like at maturity.

This PPF calculator does that in seconds.

Enter your yearly investment — anywhere between ₹500 and the maximum of ₹1.5 lakh — and your intended tenure. The calculator uses the current government-set interest rate of 7.1% per annum, compounded annually, and shows you your total invested amount, interest earned, and final maturity value. A year-by-year breakdown is available for those who want to track the growth in detail.

How to use it: Move the sliders to set your yearly investment and tenure. The results update instantly. If the government revises the PPF interest rate, you can enter the new rate manually in the rate field.

PPF calculator: A few things worth knowing before you invest: PPF has a minimum lock-in of 15 years, but can be extended in five-year blocks after maturity — with or without fresh deposits. The annual investment limit is ₹1.5 lakh per account. Interest is calculated on the lowest balance between the 1st and 5th of each month, which means depositing before April 5 every year gives you the maximum possible return.
