Punjab Names 28 Wanted Criminals, Announces Cash Rewards Up to ₹10 Lakh for Tip-Offs

For the first time in Punjab, the government has named 28 wanted criminals and announced cash rewards up to ₹10 lakh for anyone providing credible information leading to their arrest. Identity of informants to be kept confidential.

The Punjab government has taken an unprecedented step in its war against organised crime: it has publicly named 28 wanted individuals and announced cash rewards — ranging from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh — for anyone who provides credible information leading to their arrest. The government has assured that informants’ identities will be kept completely confidential.

The announcement comes on the 79th day of the ongoing anti-gangster drive ‘Gangstran Te Vaar.’ Officials describe the reward scheme as a first for Punjab.

The Ten-Lakh List

Nine individuals carry the highest reward of ₹10 lakh each. They are: Satinderjit Singh (Dist Muktsar Sahib), Lakhbir Singh (Dist Tarn Taran), Harwinder Singh Sandhu (Nanded, Maharashtra), Satbir Singh (Dist Tarn Taran), Balwinder Singh Doni (Dist Amritsar), Prabhdeep Singh (Dist Tarn Taran), Gaurav Patyal (Chandigarh), Sarwan Singh (Dist Batala), Rohit Godara (Dist Bikaner, Rajasthan).

The Five-Lakh List

A further 19 individuals have been listed with a reward of ₹5 lakh each: ₹5 lakh reward: Harry Boxer Harichand (Dist Alwar, Rajasthan), Gurwinder Singh (Dist Tarn Taran), Aditya Kapoor ((Dist Amritsar), Amarjit Singh (Dist Amritsar), Manpreet Singh (Dist Amritsar), Jobanjeet Singh (Dist Amritsar), Varinder Singh (Dist Amritsar), Supreet Singh (Dist Batala), Naveen Kumar (Dist Fazilka), Gurpreet Singh (Dist Patiala), Mohammad Yaseen Akhtar (Dist Jalandhar), Nishan Singh Jourian (Dist Batala), Gurdev Singh (Dist Tarn Taran), Rajesh Kumar (Dist SBS Nagar), Jaswinder Singh (Dist Gurdaspur), Gurpreet Singh (Dist SBS Nagar), Jaskaran Singh (Dist Fazilka), Rajinder Singh (Dist Fazilka), Shakti Kumar (Dist Fazilka).

The public can call the Anti-Gangster Helpline 93946-93946 to share information. The government has guaranteed complete confidentiality for informants.

Campaign Context

The reward scheme comes as Punjab Police marked Day 79 of Gangstran Te Vaar with 567 raids across the state and 252 arrests, taking the campaign’s cumulative total to 19,894 since its launch on January 20, 2026. In a parallel drive, Yudh Nashian Virudh (Day 404) saw 129 drug smugglers arrested with 2.9 kg of heroin recovered.

The police department official said the “Gangstran Te Vaar” is a decisive war to make Punjab a gangster-free state which was launched by Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on January 20 this year. Police teams from all the districts in coordination with Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab have been conducting special operations across the state.

On Day 79, Police teams arrested 252 individuals after recovering one weapon, taking the total arrests to 19,894 since the launch of the campaign.
