Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the people of Punjab had voted for development, and congratulated them.
Addressing media persons after his party’s emphatic win in the civic polls (results are still coming in), he reminded them they had dubbed this election as semi-finals before the Assembly elections of 2027, he said those who have lost the semi-finals have lost it very badly.
Terming the BJP as “ED party”, he said they had harassed the party workers and tried to scare them. The party, he said, wooed their Rajya Sabha MPs. But nothing worked, and people rejected it, he said, claiming that most of the party candidates lost their security deposits.
He said Akalis and BJP were at fourth and fifth place respectively though the Punjab civic poll results were then still coming in.
