Sunny Deol has officially announced his next major theatrical venture, Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak, revealing an intense first look and motion poster on Monday. Departing from high-decibel mass action, the veteran star sports a raw, weathered look with an unkempt beard and a cigarette, signalling a plunge into a dark, slow-burn crime-investigative space.
The film, which carries the official tagline “Torn between Past and Present, He uncovers the TRUTH!”, is slated to hit cinema screens worldwide on November 20, 2026.
Sunny Deol Suryaa First Look & Motion Poster: A Gritty Pivot
Sunny Deol Suryaa First Look: The newly unveiled motion poster showcases Deol with a bowed head, brooding expression, and a piercing gaze, instantly setting a sombre, atmospheric tone.
Rather than wielding hand-pumps or delivering roof-raising punchlines, the visuals project an emotionally scarred investigator haunted by unanswered questions.
Sharing the motion poster across his social media handles, Deol wrote:
“Torn between Past and Present, He uncovers the TRUTH! Presenting SURYAA: Ant Se Aarambh Tak. IN CINEMAS 20th November 2026.”
According to producer Kamal Mukut, the film captures Sunny Deol across three distinct phases of the character’s life journey, deliberately engineered to transport audiences across two different eras.
Adapting Acclaimed Malayalam Thriller ‘Joseph’
Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak marks the Bollywood directorial debut of acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker M. Padmakumar. The project is a Hindi adaptation of Padmakumar’s critically celebrated 2018 Malayalam masterpiece Joseph, which starred Joju George in a career-defining role.
Sunny Deol Suryaa First Look: The plot follows a retired police officer possessing sharp forensic intuition who is pulled into a high-stakes crime investigation following an unexpected personal tragedy. What begins as an informal query into an apparent accident steadily unravels a chilling, systemic medical racket.
For Deol, this represents a major thematic shift: trading explosive muscle for psychological tension, procedural nuance, and moral conflict.
Stellar Ensemble Cast and Production Crew
Sunny Deol Suryaa First Look: The film boasts a strong, pan-Indian ensemble supporting cast:
- Leading Ladies: Pragya Jaiswal and Tanushree Chakraborty.
- Key Roles: Ravi Kishan, Jisshu Sengupta, Tinnu Anand, Manish Wadhwa, Rohit Tiwari, and Anoop Trivedi.
- Behind the Scenes: Cinematography is handled by Santosh Thundiyil, editing by Ballu Saluja, with music composed by Uttam Singh and Ranjin Raj.
- Producers: Presented by Kamal Mukut, the film is produced by Deepak Mukut, Hemant Mukut, and Lokesh Mukut under the MM Moviez banner, with Zee Music Company handling the soundtrack.
With its blend of seasoned Malayalam narrative craftsmanship and Sunny Deol’s screen gravitas, Suryaa will be an intriguing box-office test of whether Hindi audiences will embrace their favorite action hero as an introspective, broken sleuth.
