Behari Lal, Shiprocket Refuse To Slow Down, And Now Tempsens Instruments Opens With 73% GMP To Make It A Trifecta

Tempsens Instruments IPO GMP hits 73% as Behari Lal Engineering, Shiprocket extend their rally into Day 2 — inside IPO Street’s hottest week of 2026.

A day after their blockbuster debuts, Behari Lal Engineering and Shiprocket are still climbing — up another 6%+ each on Thursday. And just as investors caught their breath, Tempsens Instruments opened its ₹650-crore IPO today with a grey market premium north of 70%, suggesting IPO Street’s hottest week of 2026 isn’t done yet.
If Wednesday was the day Behari Lal Engineering and Shiprocket surprised Dalal Street, Thursday is the day it became clear neither stock was finished — and a third name has now joined the party before its shares have even been allotted.
Behari Lal Engineering, the Mandi Gobindgarh (Punjab) steel manufacturer whose 63% listing-day pop made it the standout debut of the year, extended its rally further on Thursday, trading around ₹533 — up more than 6% on the day — after touching a fresh intraday high of ₹548 by mid-morning. That’s nearly 87% above its ₹285 IPO price in just its second trading session, following a listing-day close of ₹502.20 (a 76% gain) and an intraday high of ₹537.35 on debut.
Shiprocket, the Gurugram e-commerce logistics platform, is running a similar script — trading around ₹152 on Thursday, up roughly 6% over the previous close, on top of its own ~30-34% listing-day surge a day earlier.
And now, a third name: Tempsens Instruments
Tempsens Instruments IPO GMP: Just as the market was digesting two straight days of that rally, Tempsens Instruments (India) opened its ₹650-crore mainboard IPO for subscription on Thursday — and the grey market has responded emphatically. According to Business Standard, the Tempsens Instruments GMP stood at 73% over its ₹300 upper price band as of Thursday morning, implying a potential listing price in the ₹515-520 range.
Other grey-market trackers have posted figures ranging from roughly 53% to as high as 73%, with some informal “rumoured” quotes going even further — a reminder that GMP is an unofficial, unregulated indicator that can move sharply and shouldn’t be read as a guarantee.
Tempsens Instruments IPO, And About Tempsens
Tempsens Instruments IPO: Founded in 1990 and based in Vadodara, Tempsens is the largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors in India by revenue, holding roughly 10.5% market share in that segment, according to an F&S Report cited by the company.
It also makes electrical heating solutions and specialised cables for industries ranging from power generation and steel to aerospace, defence and nuclear applications — sectors with high entry barriers due to certification and approval requirements. The company posted a Revenue/EBITDA/PAT CAGR of roughly 27%/35%/28% over FY24-26, with a healthy debt-to-equity ratio of 0.2x. Brokerages have broadly assigned it a “Subscribe” rating.
The IPO — comprising a ₹95 crore fresh issue and a ₹555 crore offer for sale — opened Thursday and closes August 24, with listing tentatively expected on August 28. If the current grey-market enthusiasm holds anywhere close to current levels through subscription and listing, Tempsens would become the third mainboard IPO in a week to deliver a 50%+ debut gain — an extraordinary run rate for a market that spent much of 2026 struggling to clear single-digit average listing gains.
Punjab’s steel story keeps compounding
Tempsens Instruments IPO: The Behari Lal Engineering piece of this story remains the one with a distinctly local root. This is a fourth-generation family business — started as a steel trading concern in Mandi Gobindgarh in 1958 by Parkash Chand Garg, building on a foundation his father Behari Lal Garg laid in 1910 — that only became a full manufacturing enterprise in 2012 and commissioned its rolling mill as recently as 2022. Two straight sessions of strong gains, on top of a listing that already valued the company near ₹2,100-2,200 crore, mean this Fatehgarh Sahib-rooted foundry has now comfortably outperformed almost every other IPO of 2026 — including, so far, the much larger and more heavily tracked Shiprocket.
The bigger question: how long does this run last
Tempsens Instruments IPO GMP: Three strong-to-spectacular grey-market and listing-day performances inside a single week is unusual for a market that, through most of 2026, delivered average listing-day gains under 9% and saw 18 of 45 mainboard debuts trading below issue price.
Whether Tempsens Instruments can actually convert its GMP into a real listing pop next week — and whether Behari Lal Engineering and Shiprocket can hold their gains once anchor-investor lock-ins start expiring in September — will tell us whether this is the start of a genuine IPO revival or just a concentrated pocket of momentum around a few well-priced, well-positioned names.
For now, though, the ticker doesn’t lie: this is shaping up to be IPO Street’s best week of 2026, and it isn’t over yet.
